Let me introduce myself. My name is Kent Jackson and I am the owner and operator of Jackson Deck & Design, Inc. I started working in construction in 1984 as a a laborer, by 1987 I had moved up to lead carpenter. I enjoyed working with homeowners and building their new homes. In 1989 the company which employed me went our of business. After doing some superintendent work for other builders and seeing that there was a need for homeowners the have more input int he design of their outdoor living space, I ventured out on my own. Creating and starting Jackson Deck & Design in 1990.

During the beginning years I was fortunate to have worked with custom builders, who also saw the need to give homeowners what they desired. Being able to sit down and design a deck and give the homeowner control over material, size, and levels took the business to a new level. Within the first 10 years we were invited to participate in many Home-a-ramas and Home Shows, in which our decks and designs were featured. In conjunction with this we were able to pick up contracts with major builders in the Indianapolis market.

At the same time we started expanded into other outdoor living areas, in conjunction with decks. We started to offer deck cleaning, sealing, brick paver patios, pergolas, arbors and custom built porch swings. The industry really changed with the onset of composite materials and gave us the opportunity to expand our offerings to our clients.

The reason my company is still strong and growing is that I believe that the quality of my work is unsurpassed. If I would not put the work on my own home or parent’s homes then I will not put it on yours. After all these years I still show up to the jobs and perform the work with  my crew. I pride myself on the fact that my employees are always respectful, trustworthy and professional on a job-site.
